The Government Affairs Committee is at the heart of the London Chamber’s reputation for being the leading advocate for business at the federal, provincial and municipal levels and they represent the Chamber’s “Voice of Business” brand. Over the course of the Chamber year, the committee develops policy papers, provides recommendations on the City budget, and hosts a number of government speakers to present their views on a wide variety of issues.
This past year, on the federal side, the committee submitted papers on 1) Regionalize the Mortgage Financial Stress Test to Support Local Economies and 2) Fuelling Job Growth Through Innovation
On the provincial side, the committee submitted 1) Ontario’s Debt Reduction Strategy and 2) Fair Business Practices to Ensure Ontario Stays Competitive
