Summit took place the morning of 26 April 2022 at the Grand Theatre.
Our keynote speaker was
Michael Rubinoff, who is the original producer of the smash broadway hit, "
Come From Away". He is a passionate and dynamic speaker who spent his formative years here in London. He is currently developing a new production with the Grand Theatre here in London.
For our panels, we had a terrific line up of Londoners who discussed among other things, London's recent designation as a UNESCO "City of Music". Our summit is an incredible opportunity for business, not-for-profit, cultural and community leaders to get together and work through what this designation might mean for our city and how we can leverage it to revitalize our downtown.
A strong music and cultural community has been proven to attract industrial investment, along with talented young workers who put a high value on quality of life, no matter their profession. Music can be a "lead indicator" which will drive major development in other creative industries such as gaming, film and theatre. And at the end of the day this exercise is about community building. It is about enlisting music and the other creative industries to make London a magnet for the region and a more liveable, vibrant and inclusive environment.
Our theme for the event was "Grow, Renew, Flourish". And, yes! There WAS music.
